(Ambassador Srikumar Menon)


Srikumar Menon, took up his new assignment in Luanda as India’s Ambassador to the Republic of Angola in Luanda on 10 May 2018. He is due to present his credentials to the Hon'ble President of the Republic of Angola in June.

Prior to arriving in Luanda, Ambassador Menon had served as India's Ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan in Juba from July 2015 to April 2018.

Mr. Srikumar Menon had earlier served in different capacities at headquarters in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and in Indian Embassies in Muscat (Oman); Tehran (Iran); Khartoum (Sudan); Singapore, Warsaw (Poland) and The Hague (Netherlands).  

His diplomatic assignments covered work on Political, Commercial, Consular and Cultural desks in Indian Missions. This also included a 3-month stint as Charge d’Affairs in Warsaw in 2009.

Mr. Menon represented the Indian Mission at the Organisation for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague. He handled the UK and Netherlands desk in the Europe-West Division during his last tenure at headquarters from 2013 to 2015 before assuming the Ambassadorial charge in South Sudan in July 2015.

Ambassador Srikumar Menon is married to Jayanthi and they have one son.
